Spring Postcard 2006 - NZ Native Topiary

Details from left to right:-
1. Mini Pohutukawa Balls Metrosideros “Tahiti”
Year round beauty – with continuous red leaf buds (pictured) and red flowers in spring and summer. Plant in a sunny, frost free site; or in pots where you can move them to a more sheltered position over winter. Two years ago, we planted them en masse in black rectangular troughs around a sunny but windy deck in Kelburn - and they are thriving.
2. Red Flax Phormium "Rainbow Sunrise"
Flax is a beautiful, hardy plant which we recently used to great effect in a stylised geometric design, contrasting red & green colours along terraced retaining walls behind a villa in Kilbernie.
3. Palms for Wellington Conditions
You too can have the tropical look and live in Wellington! Try a selection of strappy foliage plants, Mondo Grass, Vireya Rhododendrons, and selected Palms. We have 10-12 year old Nikau Palms Rhopalostylis sapida in excellent condition sourced locally from the Kapiti Coast and 6-7 year old Sago Palms Cycas revoluta (pictured) from inland Rotorua. Both “palms” are fine to plant in pots or in the ground, under cover or in frost free sites.
4. Pittosporum “Golf Ball”
One of our favourites – we have more good quality balls in stock in a larger size. “Golf Ball” is a compact, versatile, miniature pittosporum, with fresh vibrant green foliage, and looks stunning in black pots.
5. Merry Xmas from all the plants at HEDGE
From time to time we stock a range of high quality Box topiaries, which are available at reasonable prices. These 2 characters didn’t stick around long and were last seen hitching a ride in a sporty red convertible to Roseneath! See more Box Topiary ...
