English Box Hedgelings Buxus sempervirens
Description: Classic & formal, Box has small dark green leaves that form dense bushes.
Design Inspiration: Box is one of the most popular choices for low hedging and borders in NZ, as well as being the most versatile topiary plant.
Planting Conditions: Very frost/cold hardy, and tolerates sun and shade. For hedges, plan to ultimately plant 30cm apart – but plant closer to start with for a more immediate hedge effect.
Care: Slow growing - approx 15cm/year – but requires less pruning. You can encourage faster growth by feeding and watering generously and often throughout spring and summer using a fertiliser with a high nitrogen content. Prune in February and September.
Dimensions & Price: Approx 10cm tall - $2.95ea
