Rosa "Mutabilis"

Description: This is an old fashioned rose with an extraordinary talent – its flowers change colour with age, giving the appearance of a rose covered in pretty butterflies. The colours range from pale yellow to coral to dark pink. This is a charming rose and long flowering through spring, summer & autumn. Rarely found in a standard form.

Design Inspiration: Old fashioned charm – this rose compliments either a green or silver planting scheme, lifting any garden with its splash of colour.

Planting Conditions: Roses prefer full sun but also, for a rose, Mutabilis tolerates a little shade.

Care: This is usually grown as a bush variety rose, and can shoot out long canes. Cut back any strong canes throughout the season to keep it compact. Hard prune in late winter, maintaining the basic structure of the rose head. Feed generously with rose fertiliser in early September. Spray regularly eg with Super Shield as a preventative measure rather than waiting for any problems to appear. Hard prune & fertilise again in late January. Water well and deadhead through spring & summer to promote longer flowering.
