Magnolia grandiflora “Little Gem”

Description: A beautiful evergreen, with full sized (10cm) fragrant white flowers and glossy dark green leaves. Free flowering in summer, with red seeds in winter which are attractive to birds.

Design Inspiration: Makes a beautiful feature plant either in a large container or in the ground, conjuring up visions of romance and gracious living.

Planting Conditions: Place or plant in full sun, or part shade. Use a large sized pot to accommodate its relatively large root system. In the ground, Little Gem tolerates most soil types – but thrives in moist peaty soils in sun. Slow growing.

Care: Good resistance to pests & diseases. Water generously at least once a week, and more often in hot, windy or dry conditions. Feed with general purpose fertiliser eg Osmocote in early spring. Remove seed heads in winter to encourage new growth and flowering.
