I received a welcome call from an existing customer, who had just moved her family into a new home in Mt Vic

The garden is in the heart of the city, with lots of beautiful architectural details, copper & iron work, sultry colours, and 70s crazy paving

The brief was
to create a wilderness garden - they wanted to feel private and immersed in nature

A big draw card was a new studio flat being built in the back garden, designed by Studio Pacific Architecture

The burnt cedar shou sugi ban cladding, has a smokey black crackle finish ...

... which echos the crazy paving and twiggy branches in the garden

Building works can be tough on lawns and gardens, with soil compaction, the accumulation of dust & debris, unwitting damage to plants, and intrusive foundation work

However, the materials selected cleverly included lots of natural, textured and stained timbers, which give the garden a lovely woodland feeling, in touch with nature
