Great plants for pots
I often try out plants in pots on my deck, to see how they go at close quarters. This is a nice way to get a bit of seasonal variety and to try out planting combinations - but they often outgrow their pot after a year or so and need to be planted out in the garden.
Here are some trusted plants that endure & we use long term in pots ......
Agapanthus "Black Pantha"
Asparagus densiflorus "Myers"
Small growing topiary
Japanese Box Holly, Ilex crenata "Helleri"
Slow growing topiary
Boxwood, Buxus sempervirens & Buxus "Green Gem"
Almost indestructible & great for shady spots. A good alternative to boxwood.
Can be kept pruned to size & shape
